Which University Can I apply to any of these Science Courses?

Not every science course is offered at a university in Nigeria.

While some universities offer certain courses others do not and vise-Vasa. For example, engineering courses are studied at all of Nigeria’s technological institutions.

But most conventional universities don’t have engineering programs.

However, you may apply for any of the science courses mentioned above at any of the following universities.

Requirements to Study a Science Course at the University

For you to study one of the above science courses as a school-leaver at the university there are certain requirements that you are expected to match up with. These requirements vary depending on which course you are studying.

Whereas some are friendly, others are a little rough.

Before you can take any course from the Faculty of Medical Sciences, Veterinary Medicine, and Pharmaceuticals, you will need a minimum score of 250 JAMB. Nevertheless, some universities can accept a score from 200 upwards.

With regards to the O’ level result, you will need a minimum of five credits including mathematics and English. The subjects are physics, chemistry, and biology.

Other faculties accept a jam score ranging from 180 upwards. But to boost your chances of being admitted, it will be nice if you score 200 upwards.

As far as your O’level score is concerned, you must have a credit pass in the subjects we mentioned earlier, including mathematics and English.

Length of Study for a Science Course at a University

The length of time you attend university varies depending on the course you choose. Some courses take more time and some do not. Still, you’ll know soon enough.

Courses in the Faculty of Medical Sciences, Veterinary Medicine, and Pharmaceuticals will take 5 to 6 years to complete your study. Afterward, you proceed for your horsemanship which will last for a twelvemonth.

Bear in mind that you may spend more than that if you have a problem with your study.

Additional courses in the Faculty of Agriculture, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, and Natural Sciences are offered for four years. Then you proceed with the service that should last a year.
